Please join Joyful Mind Zendo, One Heart Sangha, and and other interfaith communities for an inspiring talk from pilgrimage walker and Zen teacher Myobun Esther Freinkel Tishman as she finishes her walk across America next weekend. She will speak at Rockville United Church, a welcoming and affirming church in Twinbrook, on Saturday November 29, 1:30 to 3:00 pm (including informal discussion and tea). All are welcome, plenty of parking.
Myobun is a Zen teacher, interfaith minister, and Zen chaplain from Eugene Oregon who started walking across the U.S. this spring. She will be talking about the importance and impact of empathy, listening, and the need for understanding pluralism in order to heal our country. She founded Liberty Walks, a 501(c)(3) promoting civic-minded connections, step by step, community by community, across the United States.
From Myobun, "Our pilgrimage is an act of faith in We the People. We are committed to meeting our neighbors, state to state. Our core values are respect, kindness, curiosity and courage. Our Walkers come from varied backgrounds: school teachers and chaplains, nurses and students, electricians and retirees."
She also welcomes those who wish to join the last leg of her walk, from Vienna, VA to the Lincoln Memorial on November 30. To join the Walk: https://bit.ly/Register4LibertyWalk
